We are honoured to announce that Theresa Swinehart, Senior Vice President of Global Domains and Strategy at ICANN, will join us at Nordic Domain Days to deliver a keynote during the Domain Industry Update.
Theresa is one of the most experienced voices in global Internet governance. She has been a key contributor to ICANN's growth and development for nearly two decades, and currently serves as co-deputy to the President and CEO. In her role, she works with the community, contracted parties, stakeholders, and policymakers to ensure broad and inclusive engagement through ICANN's multistakeholder model, and oversees policy implementation, review operations, and cross-functional strategic initiatives.
Her career in the Internet space spans well over 30 years. Before her current role, Theresa held several senior positions at ICANN, including SVP of Multistakeholder Strategy and Strategic Initiatives, and Senior Advisor to the President on Global Strategy. She also spent three years as Executive Director of Global Internet Policy at Verizon Communications. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of Global E-Commerce at MCI, where she was involved in Internet-related policy forums, including the very formation of ICANN itself.
Theresa holds a BA in International Relations from UC Davis, a graduate degree in International Studies from the University of Vienna, and a Juris Doctorate from American University. She has served on the Internet Society's Board of Trustees and the Internet Governance Forum's Multistakeholder Advisory Committee, and began her career in international human rights.
With the second round of new gTLD applications opening just weeks before our event, and ICANN being a long-standing partner of Nordic Domain Days, having Theresa on our stage could not be more timely. This is a keynote you will not want to miss.
We look forward to welcoming Theresa to Stockholm this May!
